Building a Utility Data Archive

Gaps exist in the quality, consistency, and usability of data filed by utilities at public utility commissions. Using tools like Tabula and my encyclopedic memory of regulatory proceedings, I developed a repository of publicly available Colorado energy data to quickly analyze questions about resources, rates, and carbon emissions. The site, CoUtilityData, includes a calendar of typical filings and links to resources for both regulatory education and publicly available energy data.
